Mar 20, 12pm
March 20th is the Vernal Equinox, a time when the sun is directly above the equator and day and night are equal lengths (12 hours). The Vernal Equinox is also known as the first day of Spring. On this occasion, Kayla Anderson (Deep Time Chicago) will greet the refugium by reading it a letter of grounding before it ventures out into the world: as it attempts to carry the past-present as a way to shape the future, and to build roots on ever-shifting ground. Accompanying the letter will be 12 objects and texts for the refugium and its future caretakers.
